Ciociaro Race Series

A good race overall. I managed to take third place overall in the C race and barely lost out on the prime. Felt a little sore on the ribs and hand from the P2A crash so didn't jump to sprint at all.

The C race went with the women as always. The women were in very fine form and the C men just hung on. It was kind of embarrassing to tell you the truth. The women pulled for about half the race and I pulled for the other half. All the men were hanging back. I either hung back at the very back or to the left, not getting any draft for most of the race. My GPS shows that the pace ranged from 30-32 kph when I wasn't pulling and about 35-36 kph when I was pulling. I really got annoyed at the slow pace but every time I tried to break away, they all just jumped on my wheel.

A rider broke away on the final lap and because there were too many riders weaving and not holding good lines in front of me, I couldn't get past anyone in time to catch up. When I finally did have a chance, a number of riders jumped on my wheel. Oh well, third with cracked ribs and a-still-sprained-thumb is not too bad.

Well, next race I'll likely start more breaks to get the field going a little faster....or to at least get the wheel suckers to do some work!!!
