Ciociaro Thursday Series Race #5

Today was one of those days when it was hard to convince myself to even go to the race. I was feeling tired and lazy and it just seemed too much work to even get ready for the race. Good thing I worked on the bike the day before or I'd have never got to the Ciociaro for the race--it would have been the perfect excuse to not go.

Once again, not too much to report. The race was very clean with good team strategy and only a couple of squirrelly movements but without any crashes. It was very fast averaging almost 39kph and the A group only lapped us once (well, the leadout A's lapped us a second time just before the end of our race). No early warm up during this race. And, a lot of hard pushes throughout the race.

I was tagged for the lead-outs for the finish and prime but, I could only say 'we'll see' because I was so tired. And, as I thought, I wasn't able to get into position for any lead-outs. I did manage to work hard keeping a couple of breakaways under check by grabbing wheels but this was the limit of what I had tonight.
The Courtesy team raced well and we were a presence throughout the race. Thomas, the newest addition (and ringer) ended up with a nice race: winning the prime and finishing second. Me, on the other hand, finished 14th without being any help for the finish.
